The day of those who preceded us

Today is a holiday in Brazil, like the Memorial Day in the US. In Brazil this date is called "finados". Which in the dictionary means: dead, deceased, defundo. In turn dead and defundo is: who left to live, faded, succumbed, forgotten, inert, among other synonyms. Already, the word deceased, appears in the dictionary with the meaning of failure, scarce. It's all wrong!

The day is the day of the ones who preceded us and should be so named. This would give a real sense of how finite is our limited time in this life. And this reminder is very important for those who have not yet understood that are not eternal. Today we honor those who have gone before us only "to the other side of the road." And, in a moment, shall we. Certainty is in the bible:

"The life of the righteous are in the hands of God ... In the eyes of fools, those appeared to have died, and waht happened to them was considered as disgrace. Fools thought that the departure of the righteous among us was an annihilation, but are now in peace. thought that people were just serving a sentence but hoped immortality ... receive great benefits, because God tried them and found them worthy of it ... those who trust in him will understand truth and those who are faithful will live with him in love, because grace and mercy are reserved for his elected. "Wisdom 2-3.

So, death is not the end, they just preceded us into a new life!
