My eternity

 The other day I went to the birthday of a friend who turned 60. When taking the microphone to speak to those present, she thanked the gift of life, her family and said a phrase that caught my attention: she thanked God for her grandchildren because, according to her words, they guarantee her eternity.

I reflected on this and imagined that I wouldn't have my eternity guaranteed since I probably won't have grandchildren as there is no perspective.

I'm happy with neighbors who I consider as my grandchildren and recently even happier with the arrival of a great-nephew.

But unless the Lord strongly intervenes and shows ideal persons for my single children, I will not be guaranteed my eternity.

Today is my bithday and I reminded this theme again but now thinking differently: I have had my eternity guaranteed for some time now because I have an angel son who lives in me and is part of the eternal. 

So my eternity already exists and already awaits for me with the Lord.

minha eternidade

Outro dia fui ao aniversario de uma amiga que completou 60 anos. Ao tomar o microfone para falar com  os presentes ela agradeceu o dom da vida, a família e disse uma frase que me chamou a atencão: ela agradeceu a Deus pelos netos porque, segundo suas palavras, eles garantiam a sua eternidade.

Refleti sobre isso e fiquei imaginando que eu não teria minha eternidade garantida já que provavelmente não terei netos, pelo menos não existe nenhum indício. 

Sou feliz com vizinhos que considero como netos e recentemente ainda mais feliz com a vinda de um sobrinho-neto. Mas, a menos que o Senhor interfira fortemente e mostre pessoas ideais para meus filhos solteiros, eu não terei minha eternidade garantida.

Hoje é meu aniversario e novamente me lembrei desse tema. Mas agora pensei de forma diferente: já tenho, faz tempo, minha eternidade garantida porque tenho um filho anjo que vive em mim e faz parte do eterno.

Então minha eternidade já existe e já me espera com o Senhor.
