The famous song released by Ameican singer Joan Osborne says: "what if God were one of us". This question suggests a possibility or speculation.
But God is indeed one of us. And to prove this He sent his own son, who is also God, with a mission and presents each of us with a mission as well.
So, all things considered, we are all like your children and we are here for a reason.
The same song further asks, 'what would you sk God if you had the right to ask a question". I would confirm my mission and ask what else I need to do.
As one of us and also being God, he knows what we can handle and what can be done. He is power, but merciful just as we can be in many situations.
