Mães de antes

Estive pensando nas mães do Brasil.

Na década de 1940 tinham em média 6 filhos.

Nas zonas rurais não era incomum famílias com 10 filhos.

Muitos partiam cedo.

Por falta de assistência médica, alimentação inadequada,

doenças contagiosas ou vários agravantes.

Não raro pais assistiam à partida de vários filhos.

E continuavam a vida, trabalhavam, tentavam...

Acho que a postura era diferente,

A fé deveria ser maior porque a resignação era maior.

Povo bravo do sertão do meu país.

Povo guerreiro que em meio a tanto lamento

Não culpava, continuava e acreditava.

Muito sábias essas mães de antes

Passivamente aceitavam

Passivamente viviam

Não procuravam entender

Mas entendiam muito mais do que eu

Que é preciso continuar, viver e acreditar

Mothers of yesterday

I've been thinking about the mothers of Brazil.
In the 1940s they had in average about 6 children.
In rural areas it was not unusual to find families with 10 children.
Many departed early.
For lack of medical care, inadequate nutrition
and serious diseases.
Not infrequently parents watched the departure of several children.

And they kept on living, working, trying ...
I think the attitude was different,
Faith should be higher because the resignation was bigger.
Brave people from the rural areas of my country.
Warrior people who despite much regret
Did not use to blame and still believed.

Very wise were these mothers of yesterday
passively accepted
passively lived
Sought to understand
But understood much more than I do
That we should continue to live and believe

Meeting with our inner/Encontro com nosso interior

Nothing is more important than peace
Peace is so important that it was precisely what
Jesus himself choose to give us when He left us:
"My peace I leave you, my peace I will give to you" John 14:27
I have been seeking peace since my son went to heaven,
when I saw clearly that my other  searches were wrong and superficial
I Found over these two years and a half that the best way to find and stay in peace
is to have a daily time to meditate and read the Bible or books that allow reflection
This way we can make a prayer  and get in touch with our inner self where we can find God
Only then is it possible to experience the enduring peace
The peace that allows us to see that nothing "outside" should shake us because we put our trust in faith and the certainty that we are here to fulfill a mission.
We have no control over our own lives  neither the lives of people we love
Peace allows us to live today in equilibrium
With the experience we got from yesterday and tranquility to receive tomorrow

Nada é mais importante do que a paz

Tão importante é a paz que foi o que

O próprio Jesus quando aqui esteve escolheu nos deixar:

“A minha paz vos deixo, a minha paz vou dou” Jo 14:27

Venho buscando a paz desde que meu filho foi para o céu

Quando percebi claramente que as minhas outras

Buscas eram erradas e superficiais

Descobri que ao longo desses dois anos e meio que

O melhor caminho para encontrar e se manter em paz

É ter diariamente um momento para meditar e

ler a bíblia ou livros que permitam a reflexão

Desse modo podemos fazer uma oração

E ter contato com nosso interior e com Deus

Só assim é possível experimentar a paz duradora

Que nos permite ver que nada “de fora” deve nos abalar

Porque colocamos nossa confiança na fé

E na certeza de que estamos aqui para cumprir uma missão.

Não temos controle  sobre nossa própria vida

Nem das pessoas que amamos

A paz nos permite viver o equilíbrio de hoje

Com a bagagem do ontem e tranquilidade para receber o amanhã

Now live in peace
The peace that I seek daily
so hard to find it here

Life is made of steps
And what makes us suffer is not to understand
that steps are completed
Suddenly we are in another
And we do not want, changes are difficult ...

Each step has its value and is unique
I remember fondly the step of childhood
the school
the college
the great joys with you
 and then with his brothers
When you were all kids ...

Now you live another step
Away from our eyes and close to our hearts
We also live another step 
Not the one we  want but the one we have
So we should enjoy this step
live the step we are going through
It will also end someday ...
