More Conclusions

Loving yourself and live the present. Those are my two recent findings. The first conclusion, loving yourself, came from the interpretation of the gospel according to St. Mark and referred to the commandments of God's law:

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like it is, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:30-31.

If the second commandment is like the first mentioned, it means loving your neighbor as yourself is like loving God. Note well: love your neighbor as yourself. So loving yourself is a condition to love others and to God himself. That is, we must first love ourselves to then be able to love others.
The second conclusion, live the present, was inspired by the ideas of Indian Deepak Chopra, in his book the Source of Lasting Happiness he says

"You can not act on the past or the future, so if you live in the past or in the future, you will feel helpless. Life is now. So live for the moment. Act now. Prepare yourself now."

It's true. If we live in now thinking of the past we will always feel helpless because nothing can be reversed. The fact of trying to predict the future of both dreaming and planning what will no longer become a reality, is a source of sadness and anger. So live in the present is what we shall do.
