Day of Mercy

My son left a Sunday of Mercy. I did not know the date. I knew that on the exact moment of my greatest affliction from someone who spoke in my ear: “your son will survive, today is the day of mercy”.

Such words brought comfort and certainty in that moment of infinite pain when my beloved son was still fighting for life. When unfortunately it was over, those words still rang in my ears and revolted me closely: God had no mercy on me.

I learned later that the Day of Mercy was suggested by a message received by Saint Faustina from our Lord Jesus Christ. Saint Faustina was born Helena Kowalska in a small village west of Lodz, Poland, on August 25, 1905. At twenty he entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.

In the 1930s, Sister Faustina received from the Lord a message about mercy to spread throughout the world. Herself in daily life was a mercy practitioner bringing joy and peace to others and encouraging people to trust in God's mercy. Sister Faustina left diaries written with messages received from Jesus that asked people to be merciful to one another as God was merciful to each of us. After much thought and ask for discernment and peace from the Lord I came to understand, accept and trust that God if is merciful and I was not heard from God is because He found that mercy was my son go to the Father, that day, at that time and in that way . He is in heaven with Our Father.

Who am I to challenge? Humbly I give my sadness. I believe in Divine Mercy!
