Teachings of St. Augustine

Teachings of St. Augustine

Aurelius Augustine (Latin, Aurelius Augustinus), Augustine of Hippo or St Augustine was a Catholic bishop, theologian and philosopher who was born in 354 AD in Tagaste (now Souk-Ahras, Algeria), died on 28 August 430 in Hippo (now Annaba, Algeria).

Here are some of wise statements of St. Augustine:

"The anguish of losing, does not outweigh the joy of having one day possessed"
"If you can not understand, believe and you'll understand. Faith precedes, follows the intellect. "
"To have faith is to sign a blank sheet and let God write on it whatever He wants."
"Two men looked through prison bars, one saw mud, the other the stars."
"In search of GOD, HE is the one who comes forward and meet us."
"Faith is believing in things you do not see, the reward for this faith is to see what you believe."
"The true measure of love is not having end."

The love for our children does not have measure as t has no time or space limit and our gratitude for that love must also be eternal. Strengthen our faith is the way!
